Cupping
This relaxing therapy involves the use of suction with cups to draw out impurities and toxins to the surface of the skin, increasing circulation and providing relief from pain and chronic conditions in the body. It warms and promotes the free flow of Qi and blood in the body, and restores an overall sense of well being. This treatment is soothing yet energizing, however you may experience some minor bruising as a result of the healing process.
Cupping is ideal for musculo-skeletal disorders such as pain in the low back, shoulders, and legs, as well as gastrointestinal disorders, stress, insomnia, asthma and general detoxification. $75 (45 minutes)
Acupuncture
Acupuncture gains acceptance among Western medical profession, as covered on Oprah 2/13/07.
Acupuncture is an ancient healing art that promotes the body's own natural
healing mechanisms. Using very fine needles, specific points on the body are painlessly
stimulated in order to restore the body's normal balance and flow of vital energy. Activating these specific points signals the body to release certain hormones, neurotransmitters and endorphins that can reduce pain, regulate the endocrine system, calm the nervous system and increase our immune capabilities.
Acupuncture may be best known to sucessfully reduce or
eliminate acute and chronic pain, but is also highly effective in the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders, women's health issues, stress reduction and insomnia. It can also be used to prevent colds and the flu.
Acupuncture addresses not only the symptoms, but also the root causes of diseases, thereby facilitating a more complete recovery.
Initial visit $150 (75 minutes) Follow-up visits $100 (45 minutes)
